I have now seen Spider-Man and I'm pretty sure I agree with you. It's an absolutely horrible train-wreck of a film, but I still liked it. But man, what a terrible movie. It's like the filmmakers deliberately made it bad, if only because they knew it'd make a bajillion dollars anyways (and it has), and to sort of make fun of people who wanted to like it.

It's sort of a Titanic syndrome for me; both were/are the most expensive movie of their time, and they'll both end up making more money than anything ever. And they're really, really bad movies! It boggles the mind.

Jack,

Every single male character in this film is completely interchangable with every other. Thomas Haden Church, Willem Defoe, James Franco, Tobey Maguire and Topher Grace could have all played each other and I wouldn't have noticed.

We call it petrol? really?

Topher Grace is in this movie? I can't tell the difference between he and Tobey Maguire under normal circumstances, much less having both of them in the same film. I think this will be the definitive reason why I probably won't see Spider-Man 3.

On second thought, I have absolutely nothing to do today, and I haven't seen a film in a theater in ages, so I will go see Spider-Man 3.

On third thought, I have very little gas ("petrol" to you Canadians) in my car and the movie theater is twenty minutes away.

On fourth thought, this is America and there are many gas stations at numerous convenient locations around my house.

Yes, but I feel the need to note that I get paid to write that fansite.

Just like MJ gets paid to be hot. And I'm freakishly tall-- much taller than Kirsten Dunst. So really, it's practically the same thing.
