What Digg Dugg #1 matt

It’s digg! It’s digg dot com! The ultimate arbiter of what it is and is not important. For thousands of years we’ve let things like corporations, governments, morality and journalistic ethos dictate too much the news that we, the public, are exposed to. Digg breaks that all down. It’s by the people, for the people, and often about the people — the ones that fall over, get hit in the nads, show off their new Apple products, believe Bush supports torture or simply repost some shitty forwarded e-mail you first saw eight years ago.

Yes, it sure is digg. Let’s see what’s in the internet news this week.

This week on BE Something matt

Erin and I are still waking up from our long summer hiatus — it was filled with horrors and delights and a time when we saw horses — but we’re still ready to rock your proverbial world with new recaps/reviews and other exciting content this week. Stay tuned for the following schedule:

  • Monday: Recap/Review of season premier of Heroes
  • Tuesday: Recap/Review of season premier of House
  • Wednesday: Recap/Review of episode two of America’s Next Top Model
  • Thursday: Recap/Review of the hour-long season premiere of The Office
  • Friday: More stuff about video games.
  • Weekend: ‘What Digg Dugg’ a new weekly look at what the internet’s doing.

We’ll also be picking up other shows as the TV season progresses. The new emmy-winning 30 Rock will be covered starting with its premier next week, and Amazing Race will be recapped when it returns mid-season. Of course, some shows won’t be coming back. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is, thankfully, gone forever. And 24, while not gone forever, just doesn’t look to be very good at all, so it’s not likely to appear on this site again.

Aside from that, we’ll keep things going with the occasional look at movies, including a summer box office wrap-up I’ve been meaning to write for a while. It’s my goal not to abandon this site like so many other sites in the past, so rest easy, committed readers, we will not be stopping any time soon.

Thanks for reading,
Matt

It’s been a little over four months since I declared that the Nintendo Wii will be the best selling console of the next five years. It was, at the time, still sort of an auspicious thing to say, because conventional wisdom was that it was too early to declare a winner. Six months in, people said, the console war had barely even begun.

It was a bullshit argument, of course.
